Although good poker play is encouraged and rewarded at RSP, perhaps the top priority of our league is to keep the game fun for our players. We want everyone to equate “River Street Poker” with “a good time,” and, as a result, we expect all members to protect the interests of the league as a whole by both encouraging good table etiquette and rules adherence as well as bringing to the attention of the Tournament Directors any questionable acts or inappropriate behavior observed which jeopardizes the game’s integrity or adversely affects players’ overall enjoyment of the event.
Players in violation of acts mentioned below, except as otherwise noted, are subject to warnings or disqualifications, all at the sole discretion of Tournament Directors and/or league founders:
- All hosting venue “house” rules regarding conduct will be respected during play and will supersede any potentially conflicting RSP rule. It is the player’s own responsibility to become familiar with these rules. Any disciplinary action by management or ownership of the host venue will not be challenged by the Tournament Director or RSP.
- No wagering of any kind is permitted while participating in any RSP event, including wagers unrelated to RSP. First-time violators of this code will be disqualified from the current tournament. Second offenders will be prohibited from participating in any future RSP events.
- No cash or any other form of currency may be placed on a playing table at any time.
- Collusion or any other form of cheating is prohibited.
- Verbal abuse or threats from one player to another is prohibited.
- Excessive arguing is prohibited.
- Deliberately acting out of turn is prohibited.
- RSP is a “show one, show all” league. At hand’s end, all players have a right to see any mucked cards intentionally shown from one player to another at any point during the hand.
- While in a hand, a player intentionally revealing a card to another player still in the hand is prohibited.
- Two or more players agreeing to “check” when a player is “all-in” is prohibited.
- Deliberate stalling of play is prohibited.
- Tearing, bending, or throwing of cards or chips is prohibited.
